Knowledge and Love
Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know; but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him. (I Cor. 8:1-3)
You cannot find or know God without His taking the initiative. You cannot know God unless He wishes you to know Him, and Paul cautions that He will not reveal Himself to you if you do not biblically love Him and others. You know God because you love Him and He has revealed Himself to you.
